I also quit archery completely for the past several years due to lower back problems that I've had for most of my life. Both competitive 3D archery and bowhunting were a big part of my life for many many years but the pain and back problems that accompanied the shooting just wasn't worth it.
This year I decided to try crossbows and (knock on wood) no back issues so far. I really missed bowhunting and am looking forward to hunting this year with my Excal & TenPoint. I'll be in Maine 2 weeks from today bear hunting with my Excal.
