Turned my vixen into monster

Post by Masboy »

I made up some more BEA 16 inch 600-625 depending on 100-125 tips an created a little monster! all the broadheads shoot to the same poi as my fieldpoints . been shooting most of the day an so impressed with them but have to shoot my tricks an others for most of my practice because I have a hard time with the Magnus shooting thru everything ( great problem) always learning an found out with a short, heavy arrow you don,t need a high foc to be deadly accurate . an another thing don,t shoot as low as a high foc arrow . they shoot about the same poi as a 100gr lighter high foc arrow. ( 110 brass inserts in both ends) sighted in an ready to hunt an 13 days to go an so pleased with my setup an ready to run some down the rail of my little monster on some deer

Accurate with all arrows I,ve shot in it long, short, high foc, low foc an can,t tell any difference other than less vibration, quieter, more penetration with heavy arrows.

I'm thinking of having Danny Miller cut an inch off my Ibex rail and make it a thumb-hole Vixen. I'm learning with this shoulder recovery that I might be better off with a crossbow with a bit less poundage in the pulling stroke and one that isn't as long when holding.

Thanks for your posts and keeping me and all updated with your experiments. Can't wait to come down and try out your new, "tweaked" bows. :D

Ahhhh man, your tempting me Masboy. Very kind of you and I will try out your little monster crossbow as soon as I get the okay from the specialist. I'm on very strict orders, no shooting of any kind, even if someone else cocks the crossbow for me. Stupid shoulder :!: You should of seen the specialist's face when I asked if shotgun was okay?
