Yep, unless you bury the bolt down to the vanes!
Actually, they work well grabbing behind the vanes, just sayin.

Raymond, you tie the loops together so they can't untwist/twist.

You guys are great lots of info .Thanks for making me welcome. I will be calling Dan as soon as the end of the month bills are out of the way .I am self employed and everybody is late paying nowadays. I got the bow from a shop owner that I trade work for weapons with( a good friend oddly my wife don't like him). Now to tweak it to be exactly what I want. As soon as I figure that out.

I always coat all my arrows(bolts now) with armor all they pull a lot easier from 3d targets.I like to build a 6x6 rag target about 18" thick .We used them at a club I shot with. Cover with old carpet backing side out so you can spray several black dots lets you shoot without wrecking vanes or having Robin Hood show up. The large size also lets you sight in at long range without fear of missing I always use the center for this. shooting several spots stops soft areas. Wood frame, cover with chicken wire, face with carpet. Make top removeable so you can repack /add rags as needed. I get mine from goodwill(stuff they can't sell to wear) and remove buttons and zippers. Field tips only!!! Two finger removal(ICS 400 at 265 fps) as close as 5 yards(to back up frame when paper tuning) Anyway has anyone used Armor All on their crossbow? I'm betting it will slick up the bolts and would lube the bed also. Do you all paper tune your arrows (bolts)?

I also suggest you call Dan Miller. His arrow pulling pliers and heavy duty stringing aid price was $44,00 shipped. I let Dan pick the rope color and he did good.

Very pleasant man.

Congrats on the new crossbow.I made a holder for my bag target, which allows the target to hang a couple of inches off the ground. With the impact from the arrow the target swings this making the penetration only 1/2 the length of the arrow and easy to pull out,and that is at 20yds.The bag target is Yellow Jacket. The holder works the same for the block broadhead target from Yellow Jacket.I too am getting 2 custom strings(should be to me next wk)
Have fun shootn-your boy will love that crossbow :)

Talked with Dan Miller today. You guys are right on he is the one to talk to. I will be ordering from him soon. Pure facts no B.S. and he explains thing in a way you can understand. It's easy to get caught up in a lot of flash and hype in this industry talk to Dan Miller and get the down to earth facts. His prices are more than fair thanks to all that sent me in his direction.
