380 Brace height

Post by ebuckle »

Just got in my new 380 and from the factory the string is touching the REDS. Called the factory and they said to set a 1/16 off the REDS which I did making it 1/2" from the brace. The instruction book calls for 1-1.5" off.
Any suggestions???

I did my brace height at 7/8" of an inch. I'm a newbie with this bow so I am trying that height for a while.

Being new .Id set it at 7/8 brace to start.Cause the new string will stretch.

What you can do is cock your bow let it set overnite .Next day shoot it ,see where the brace is .The string will stretch a little being cocked .

My string stay's at 5/8 brace ,which is in turn 2 string width's wide or close to it

Ive got over 1000 shot's threw it already with a custom string though. One of Excaliber string's on here. All the string maker's here are good .

Thanks, I'm going to try and find Dan's and get a Flemish string. Right now I got the following results in the crono with field point and 18" Dioblos:
100 Gr 370 fps
125 Gr 363 fps
150 Gr 355 fps

I'm going to try the 125 gr crossbow SpitFire machanical to start with.

I'm strickly hunting, when shooting the above weights, I payed alot of detail to the penetration of each. And at first glance the 125 gr "may" give me good speed and penetration. Even with my compound I never liked shooting under 125 gr.
