Excalibur Matrix 380 – help, questions

I just got my new Matrix 380 today. I opened up the plain white box and the first thing I noticed was the bolts and part of the stock were wrapped in newspaper from Reading PA. I thought that was odd. Then I noticed one of the bolts was splintered like it was fired into a hard target. 2 of the other bolts have minor marring on them. Did I mention I purchased a “new” crossbow? So now I am thoroughly going over every piece and one of the suppressors looks like it has grabbed with a tool, pliers maybe? There is definite signs on the suppressors that it has been fired a few times. While inspecting the Tact-Zone scope I noticed the focus ring is nothing more than a screw on cap. There is no adjustment, it is just a cap that screws on and off. So aside from the fact that I received a either used and returned or demo floor “new” cross bow. Is there supposed to be an operable focus ring on the scope?
The retailor was 1 of 7 that are directly linked from Excalibur’s website.
Any thoughts?

I think you need to BITCH !!!! TO THE FOLKS YOU GOT IT FROM.

I notified Excalibur of my short shipped items.....next day, I had the supplier contact me to make it all good.... and they did

quality comes with respect... and that is what the customer deserves.
and with Excalibur, you are in excellent hands

Is your focus ring just and end cap or does it actually focus for the visually impaired? Getting all my facts first.

I never took it out of box... I sold it because I already had my scope of choice.

I have not heard that complaint about the tact-zone scope.

You got a returned xbow. 1st call the dealer and explain what you got. If no joy, then call the factory and tell them........If you're in the States, talk w/ Dan Miller in Ohio [740] 483-2312 for accessories, like strings ect. He makes all of Excals strings for them, btw.

I just got back from a large box retail store and took a closer look at the Tact-Zone scope. My ring is just screwing off the focus tube. Of course there is no way for me to get it free without possibly damaging it. Which I am NOT going to attempt. I am going to call the store I purchased it from tomorrow now that I have all my facts straight. What sucks is . . . I have my “new” toy, disassembled on my living room floor, and I do not want to assemble it until I sort this out.

Excalibur will defiantly take care of you, but the Excalibur dealer you bought it from needs to fix this or be black listed.

If the dealer that sold this too you fails to follow through, then call Dan Miller if you are in the U.S.A. He is a real Excalibur Representative, in Ohio [740] 483-2312.

Could you please post what vendor did this to you. You can't hurt there business they already did by sending this out to you in that condition !

If they tell you to send it back make sure they pay the shipping costs.

Well I just got off the phone with the retailer I purchased my Matrix 380 from and he insists it was brand new and they open and inspect them before shipping them out. He said he also wraps some of the items in newspaper to ensure they do not get damaged in route. Either way he is shipping me a new one out Monday with a shipping label to return the old one. He stands in front of his business ensuring I get the pest possible product. I would buy from him again. Thanks for everyone's input.
