rope cocking aid?

Post by bobcattrapper »

Sorry for all the questions but its how we learn right  Ok so I watched the DVD several times how to use it.I watched it again later. This time I noticed he put the hooks on the string facing him and the bow.I hooked mine the opposite way.Does it matter??

Not really. I noticed at Boofest a year ago that shooters were split on this with each having a good reason for doing it their way. Both seem to work.

I do too ,Mike but lots of folks do it opening facing down, and all of them seem to have a reason. think its a to each his own deal.

6 of one, half dozen of the other. Either way works.

I started with hooks facing down like in the video but changed to hooks facing up so I can get a good visual cue that the string is seated solidly in each hook.

Down for me, after cocking and putting on the safety I give the cocker a little shake and both hooks come right off.

Started with mine down and changed last year to the hooks up because now I can see the hooks as I pull up the rope. Just a piece of mind I guess being able to see the hooks attached to the string.
