I made a jig to spin test my heads with years ago . But another way is to set the tip of the head in the palm of your left hand and lay the shaft betwen two finger nails on your right hand and gently blow the fletching so the shaft spins . You can see and feel any run out ( wobble ) there is . PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU TRY THIS !!! It takes a little practice but works great .

Re: Switching broad heads ?
I am about to update the "Swhacker Sharpness" thread. I had bought a pack of swhackers a couple of months ago. At first I thought that they were sharp, but after comparing to my Rages, they were not sharp, and not particularly well finished and put together.
I sent a polite note to Swhacker, and they sent me a new pack. They seemed to recognize that there was a quality or mfg issue....but it is now fixed. The replacement set was much better than the first set. Blades are sharp; satin finished, and the black finish is much nicer on this new set. I haven't shot anything with them yet, but I like what I see and I like their customer service. Maybe they took a page out of the Excalibur playbook.

Why don't you try a pack of 3 blade Muzzy MX3 and see how they group with your GT Bolts. Mine group exactly like fieldpoints. They are extremely durable, very reasonably priced and can be bought almost anywhere.

I have used those and killed deer with them before.
I wanted mech. heads for out west it's always windy and 30- 40 yard shots are pretty common .The fix blades do catch wind. I got 2 deer in 2 years out there with the swhackers . Just looking for the MAGIC head I guess.
