TWILIGHT DLX

Post by BOB VANDRISH »

Has anyone tried this scope on a slower bow? (like under the 300 fps min for this scope?)
I have a Phoenix with a Lumizone that shoots very nicely set at 275 fps, using a 420 grain bolt.
I have good accuracy at every distance from 20 yards right out to 50 yards with this setting.
Looking at buying one of these and don't want to find out the hard way that the BDC will not work.
Any thoughts welcomed!
Bob

Set it at 300 and figure out your yardages.

20,28,36,43, for example.

I sort of felt that it will have to come down to a bit of trial and error to check out the actual drop at the various distances.
I made the commitment to buy one,so we'll have to figure out how to get there!
Thanks,

I have one on my Phoenix and I had no trouble setting it up for the different yardages.

Set up my Phoenix with the DLX,and left the speed setting at 300 fps.
A couple of minor tweaks up and to the right and all was reasonably good until I got out to 50 yards.
All my shots at that distance were 3" high.
That means that I will have to increase the speed ring to lower that impact point.
Quite different than the settings that I used with the Lumizone, where I had the speed set at 275 and all ranges were close enoughto spot on.
I am using bolts at 420 grain.
Is that a variable that one can expect, going from one scope to another?
With Boo's trigger adjustment a while back, she sure shoots about as sweet as you can get!
