30 is nice but use the rest of the scope , I've seen them drive tacks out to 80 with an alternate scope and stock bolt's.

Thanks to Excalibur’s Ergo-Grip, the Matrix was very comfortable to hold and I never felt like needing to take a rest from shooting to give my upper body muscles any rest – that’s a very important, yet often overlooked quality.

I decided to try out a few 20″ arrows just to see how they would perform (the crossbow comes with 18″ arrows and that’s the recommended length).

The Matrix 355 handled those really well, and accuracy was just as consistent as with the 18″ arrows (though a slight reduction in accuracy was noticeable at ranges over 50 yards, but that was perfectly expectable).

Here is the detail of my review on this crossbow

Excalibur is the best recurve crossbow I ever tested.
Thanks for mentioning my blog on Excalibur's Facebook Page the other day. And hope I could add some value here to the community. :)

Nice bow Dan, I knew you would get one. I have something for your stirrup and REDS. Made a huge sound difference on mine.

Hi All,

Sometimes I am so jealous of you eastern folks, it seems you have way better access to stuff.

I have had my 380 for a couple of weeks and of course love it. I have been shooting with the video camera set up at the target, between 30 and 40 yards in preparation for a December whitetail hunt in BC.

As everyone knows the new bow makes a lot of noise to the human ear when it is fired, the camera seems to detect a lot less 30 yards out, that being said I so want to reduce the noise.

I want a flemish string with whiskers and will order one from Boo eventually, but I know I can't get his quickly, gotta get arrows etc. too.

My question is if I can't get a string in 2 weeks, have anyone tried any of the other silencer stuff like limb saver stuff etc.

I have heat shrinked the retainer, checked all the screws, just looking for a little less sound out of the bow.

Thanks for any advice

Glad you like it Dan! I expect we will be hearing more good reports from you on the 355 as you began to experiment with your setup. I for one am looking forward to it. My 2012 Axiom has been sold, so just a matter of time now before the SZ380 sells and a new 355 is headed my way. :)
