This trail camera cost me around $70.00 cdn to make and works better than the store bought because it has a better flash. The key is to find a Cannon PF. I got lucky and picked one up on E-Bay for cheap. I got most of the stuff together my Uncle built it. [/img]

This site has been posted by other members most recently Woody Williams. http://jesseshunting.com/site/homebrew-cam.html

I went with the regency motion detector. You can get one at any Walmart. The only thing I would stress that is not on the web-site is spend the money on the Owl PF and go with a 12V gel cel battery. The PF stands for power flash and it makes a difference on the night shots. The gel cell works well in cold temperatures. I picked one up for twenty bucks at an army surplus store. Plus most are rechargable. The other stuff was easy to find at Radio Shack. The other thing I like about the Owl PF camera is it will tell me the date and the time. The store bought tells me the time or the date. I like to know the date because I go to Environment Canada and see what the weather was that day and try and pattern the deer. Hope this helps.

Looks like Jesse has redesigned his site since I was last there and I cant find any of the old stuff that used to be so helpful. If anyone has info on how to build the camera, I would appreciate it. Anybody thought of doing this with a cheap digital camera?

Shakky, nice outfit, real fine pic's... I take it that it's a 35 mm camera :?:

HomeBrew stuff is neat and fun as long as the cost don't go over what ya could have purchased it fer. (Factory)

Even then it's still a good way too go if'n ya like the challenge of doing it your self. I give it a (A+)

nice going Shakky.

I'm sure I could round up all those parts but I sure as heck would be toast at that point! :? Way to stick it out and get it done.

It's sure a nice looking unit and it takes good shots.
