Yes, Leupold! Your Matrix deserves the best scope that your budget can afford.

Only problem I had with my Tact Zone scope was it started fogging up real bad. It is at Danny's now and I will soon have a Leupold to play with. Cost a few dollars but I think it will be money well spent.

Thanks newbie, appreciate it. That's what I was afraid of. I'm really losing faith in these scopes. I wonder if the one on the 405 will be better or should I upgrade to the leupold?
RETRACTION: oops...I think. I checked my screws and the heads are rounding again so I couldn't tighten them enough. When I grabbed the scope I could jiggle it slightly. I don't know if that's causing the drop because it's maintaining a good vertical line. I'll have to wait until I get new screws, blue lock-tight them in and try again. I'll re-post my results when I get them. Thanks for all the suggestions. I actually just ordered an HHA Optimizer and may do a scope upgrade depending on my results.

Check/Loc-tite the two screws that are under the stock that hold the trigger unit in place. Long sad story on how I found that one out, lol.

An upgrade to a Leupold will permanently relieve all your scope headaches.

Paulaboutform, are you talking about the 4 scope mount screws rounding? If so PM me your address and I will forward you some much better 9/64 allen head screws which are far surperior than the factory 3/32 ones. No cost.
You found your problem.

Leupold Cross Bones Scope is very reasonable and has graduations to 60yrds if you use very bottom graduation mark in scope you have 70yrds. I have shot 2" groups out to 90 yrds with this scope and it has the great quality leupold is known for. I would never go on a big trip with the Excal scope, sorry but I've seen too many let guys down on fly in trips. I carry a set of excal fixed sights as back up and so far only guys with ecal scopes have needed them. Lifetime warranty is zero good when I'm 100 miles in bush on fly in moose hunt and excal scope fogs up.

Thanks hunt it. I appreciate the input. I'll be talking to enormous to pick his brain and I'm leaning towards the leupold.

I'm sorry to be redundant.....If you grab your scope and try to tweak it up or down and see any movement at all, it's one of two things. Loose scope mount screws or loose trigger screws.

You guys are the sharpest of the sharp, lol, figure it out, just wanted to bring another factor into the equation...........
