Drag Rag Success

Post by BryanOney »

Has anyone had much success using a drag rag for bucks. Did you tie them to your boots or on a string. What is a good lure to use on a drag rag for bucks.

I've had great success using the tarsal glands from harvested bucks. Make sure you carry a baggy when hunting to put them in when you are successful.I freeze them until needed then place in a baby food jar with a bit of boiling water to activate, use a large safteypin put thru the hide and then you can pin it to your boot or a string to lay a trail then hang it up in a spot thats clear to shoot at from your stand. You cant beat natural scent, ive shot a few bucks while they had their nose right up against the gland after they dogged it to where i hung it. GOOD LUCK

I can't remember who posted this but I will be giving it a try this season. Take the felt pads you buy to put on the bottom of your furniture and put scent on them and stick them to the bottom of your boot. Apparently this works and it won't get caught on trees and things.
