Hi all I'm new to this site and find it very informative. I just got my first x-bow, the Exo-mag. My question is when trying to put the target points on the bolts i was only able to get them a quarter of the way in and with difficulty. These points were in the accessory package. Can anyone provide me with some insite on this?
George: Welcome to the forum! Take one of your bolts to a bow shop or to a store that sells target points and broadheads. I have never had any problem with the heads not screwing all the way into the bolt. Check to see if something is lodged in the threads of the bolt or if the threads on you target point is messed up. Check all your bolts to see if all of them reject the target points ( try more than one point). Striper
I appreciate the advice guys. I called the store where i got the bow and was told that this was never encountered before. I was told to use a towl to get a better grip on the target point and apply more force. I think I will take them into the store just to be on the safe side. Thanks again guys.
I would just bring them back. I had that happen to me before. The inserts were not threaded deep enough to allow me to screw the heads all the way down.
I had that problem with a broadhead once, turned out that I was cross threading it and ruined the thread on the broadhead. I ended up with extra blades and one less broadhead.
Welcome Aboard! Someone could have swaped out the target tips in the kit with a set with different threading. I would difently take them in to the store so if they mess them up they can replace them.
I usually just run my T-handle puller down the threads front and rear of all my new bolts to clean the threads for the fieldpoints and broadheadswill slide in easier. Sometimes the threads are not tapped in too well.
Hi Grey Owl, I wish I was from your neck of the woods, from what I see and read thats where the big boys are. I am from Ontario, Toronto to be specific. I believe this site to be one of the better ones out there and I hope to share in my experiences on this site as well, Thanks to all for the worm welcome.
