I've been following xbow sites for close to a year now and almost all of the problems involve high velocity xbows (more than 330 fps). Are the companies forcing things a bit in their races to get higher velocities?
Naw i spect the mag tip didn't take a good epoxy & let go. Maybe arrows are down at min & the excess energy worked it loose. Tell put new set of limbs on it!

The limb tip pulled off the limb, it appears that it is 2 pieces, limb and limb tip, and the tip is expoxied on.
I am trying to picture the string sliding down the limb as the tip flew off on either side and a picture sometime tells the story...I would have thought the string would have flew off the side the tip stayed on out into the yard some where but hey I am just thinking. Excalibur will take care of you and that's a comfort...sorry about your hunt getting messed up.
Call me crazy, but it seems that I have heard about more quality issues in the last year or two than I have in the entire 10-11 years that I've owned an Excalibur.
Limbs should be tested well beyond their intended draw weight to ensure poor quality limbs never leave the factory in the first place...
I'm sure that it was a great disappointment for you. The higher the speed the more that can happen. And, that is the direction the market is taking so you just have to grin and bear it. In hindsight a backup would have been the ticket. Again sorry to hear about this.
Sorry for your disappointing experience.
Hoping your next bird comes in tripping over his beard.
Excalibur can make your bow usable again, but the ruined hunt is another story.
I applaud your not throwing in the towel. If your close holler. Maybe work out a loaner here.

The problem with excessive stress testing is that you can cause unseen damage to the limbs. Like using a hammer to test for vibration on a delicate device.
