Re: Excalibur Scopes
Though I am currently using a Leupold with a HHA Optimizer, my back up is a Twilight DLX scope. It is very bright with fine crosshairs. Dead on for 3D (that is all I shoot). Switched to my current rig to get away from multiple chevrons. The Twilight scope is still attached to its rings (as well as a spirit level). If something happens to the Leupold all I have to do is attach the Twilight's rings to the scope mount and I am good to go.

Re: Excalibur Scopes
The Nikon Bolt XR is an excellent choice for Matrix models, but probably best suited for the 355 due to the reticles lining up with that bows speed. The Redfield Revenge is a great scope, especially for the price. It has a 34 MM tube, and the optics are very clear, and bright with an excellent field of view. It is a long scope, and looks funky on the Matrix in my opinion, but it should not be overlooked. Redfield is owned by Leupold, and the quality is obvious.

Re: Excalibur Scopes
I have a varizone scope on my Vortex and it has been just great so far. I have not seen any negative reviews on this site yet.

They are made in China too?
Well, maybe we can't judge the quality of a product just for the country in which it was produced.
Or maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Excalibur Scopes
I can't hang my hunt on any Chinese made optic. I judge and judge them hard. Chinese made optics are also quite heavy which is a big negative for a scope.darwal44 wrote:They are made in China too?

All of Excals scopes have a lifetime warranty, I'd send the Vari-zone in to someone.....

Re: Excalibur Scopes
Remember we used to look down on " Made in Japan " . Now they are some of the very best glass out there . Anywhere in the world can make something really good . If you want to pay the price .
Danny Miller got me turned onto Leupolds over 20 years ago for 3-d . They are a scope that rarely fail .
For Excalibur scope I still favor a simple approach . Varizone . NO BATTERIES !!!

Re: Excalibur Scopes
Remember that the best thing about Excalibur is that they are made for hunter by hunters. They put out a product of great quality, at the same time, not very expensive.
Excalibur Scopes are more then enough scope for hunting situations. Are there better scopes out there, yes, but at what cost. Today's Excalibur scopes are clear enough for shots out to 40 yards on wild game. They also gather more then enough light for dawn and dusk shooting (any more light gathering will only help in most places, after legal shooting times).
If you have extra money to spend, or are in the need to be extra fine in target shooting, then you can get other scopes. Remember that Excalibur needs to try and please all shooters, by putting out a product which is more then capable, but still priced that most people can afford to get one.

Re: Excalibur Scopes
love my shadowzone gives me an extra 10 to 15 min. hunting time, plenty clear enough to do the job.
