Elusive MD SIKA Deer

Anyone live near maryland eastern shore and plan on hunting the sika deer rut sept-oct. I've been after them for two years but the elusive sika deer always wins. Any pointers or members willing to meet up and show me the ropes?

I've read that their one of the most elusive critter's to hunt. What they lack in size they make up for in the "smart's" department.

They are man, I've been within 10 Yrds of hinds and stags but haven't been able to get one because they stay in the marsh grasses . Sometimes I see a head there another splash here. It's hard, last year a stag came out of nowhere jumped about 10 feet into tall grass and I never saw or heard it again. There quick little buggers. Ran into another hunter who told me he hunts them like turkeys (run and gun) using a sika seducer call. That's what I want to learn. I've heard they respond well to calls and are really territorial.

I've only managed to take one with a rifle and over corn. Tough to kill but very yummy!
