Got it cut out. The first pic shows the rail in up to the rear of the rail pocket. This if I was a contractor yet I'd sub contract out because its so repetitious. Second pic is what awaits me in the morning.

Re: Bigredopie Build along
Sorry for being gone for so long. I caught a cold. Colds are hard on me.
The first pic is a jig I made up for the proper depth of the rail pocket. Just slide it back and forth and take off where she hits.
The pattern is the inside of the matrix rail.
So you first mark the pocket on the outside and then just set the pattern on and that's your cut.
And there you have it
Square cut down the rear to the pattern layout
The push and pull torture tool works fairly well to get the pocket just right
Here is the secret. One layer of sander shims at a time till she fits. And I found out with Species camo rail it takes one more shim.
And my good friend Rocco who faithfully follows where ever I go.
Now I am going to try to cough my lungs out. Bummer!

Re: Bigredopie Build along
First pic is of the trigger hole being drilled out.
This is a pic of my jig and drilling out the trigger hole and the thumbhole
This is a pic of the rail and trigger fitted. Hard to hold up Allan but zero hand shock when you shoot.
OH crap the last pic blurry. Next I'll rough draw the stock lines on it and take the excess wood off and then drill the center mark references. Good night.

It's not a Canadian cold. Think a Canadian cold would have killed me. I got that cold from a restaurant cook that did not know enough to stay home when ill. Did not notice that she was ill until after I was done eating and that was way to late. I am going to the Doctor for a physical and I'll let her listen to the wheezing in my lungs. Bring on the Drugs I say.bigredopie wrote:The stock is looking great but how about the stock maker? Any relief from that Canadian cold?
