Matrix 380 bolt setup

Post by HorizontalArchr »

I currently shoot diablos with luminoks and quick fletch blazers and need to acquire more bolts before the season bc I only have 3 left. I'm using 150 grn xbow tricks. There are deadly accurate and weigh in at 422 grn +\- 1 grn. (Total) I read that a lot of people here shoot executioners or zombie slayers and have had great experiences with them. Can anyone here give me the total weight of these arrows (factory fletched with 92 grn front insert) with luminoks and broadheads installed. Also what length bolt and weight broadhead do you use and why. I would like to still use my 150 xbow tricks if accuracy is not an issue nor excessive arrow drop. Any input on accuracy between all 3 bolts would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

My 20" BEE's w/ 92 gr inserts, 2" Blazers and plastic nocks weigh 400 gr w/ 100 gr point or bhead.

I don't use lighted nocks.......

Take off 9.1 grains per inch shorter than Awshucks stated if you cut them to 18" I shoot both, like Zombies a bit more than the Executioner.

FYI,
-Executioners weigh 9.0 grain/inch and Zombies are 9.1 gr/inch.
- Lumenoks are 29 grain each.
-Blazer vanes are 6 gr. each
-BE brass fronts come in 80, 90 and 110 grain.
-Then add your head weight.

SEW, can you explain how 232 grain is heavy or is this a typo?
350 grain is the min. weight that Excalibur suggests

I think SEW is talking about the total weight up front ie 150 grain plus 92 grain front insert (242 grain total). Remember I want to still use the Broadheads I have on hand. But wanted input on arrow drop if I did. Any one use boltcutters or xbow tricks with bea bolts and would like to share how they perform on a 380? Thanks for the replies everybody.

I see what SEW meant now. Forum history suggests the Boltcutter and Xbow Tricks to fly well out of the M380.
Aluminum front inserts for BE''s are also available which run about 25-30 grains ea. and may be a good option for those looking for a bit more speed when paired with a 150 grain broadhead.

I am using a 18" Zombie with Lumenoks, 25 grain aluminum front insert, 170 gr NAP FOC Mechanical and 3 2" Blazers at 400 grains.
