Wolfs Den Extreme shoot today..

Post by BigBear »

Hi guys and gals...myself, comfybear and Rico went to the wolfs den today to sight in our bows for next weekend 8) ...we did'nt know there was a shoot going on, so we decided to join in...low and behold, we took home 1st and 2nd place...it was a very tough course to shoot, probably one of the hardest that i can remember!...the shots were loooong and under tought conditions, but it was very challenging...anyways comfybear shot a 349 for 1st place, and i shot 338 for second place..had a good time, 1st time out this year for us, so it was fun and we had fun shooting together as well 8) ...looking forward to next week...seeya..Lou  Image

Thanks guys, but I still can't believe it. You know what they say, it's better to be lucky, than good.

The truth is I hadn't shot 3D since last year, I didn't even know if my scope was setup right. So my intention was, not to embrass myself next week at BigBear's shoot, that I better go sight it in and set it up. Well I must say, being that it's an Excalibur, I had nothing to worry about. After stringing it up and taking a few shots I knew that the bow would do the job, however could the same be said about me. :?

I hadn't plan to shoot in the 3D tournment, but thought "what the hay". It took me 3 targets just to get over the jitters of trying to estimate distances. Then on the 4th target, about a 30 yarder, the "light bulb" lit up, the heck with trying to estimate, why not just use the 30 yard marker, like I did in a shoot last year, and aim either higher or lower. I guess it worked, because when it was all said and done, what started only as a sighting-in outing, ended with BigBear and I taking home some hardware.

However, the best part of the day was the enjoyable time I had with a couple of good guys.

BB , CB ..Congrats .... good shooting . What was the turn out for this shoot ? The weather was sure right for it !

How many shooters are you expecting next weekend for the BB 40th shoot?

The turnout wasn't bad at all, I figure about 60 shooters in all. Next week according to BB there'll be about 10-15 forum shooters and Gary (Wolf's Den) says he has about 40-45 shooters who have shown interest.

Can you just imagine 60 crossbow shooters at a single event. It should be a record and a blast.
