Man I got a herd of some buck, some huge ones too, going to go hunt them this Tuesday through Friday. Going to try for a monster buck and doe in the evenings then turkey hunt in the mornings. Going to fill the freezer up and try for a nice mount.

Re: Slicktricks Don't Spin True
I did get most of them to spin well with minimal wobble by playing with the washers. What do you guys mean by squaring the inserts?
Re: Slicktricks Don't Spin True
squaring the inserts means to make sure they sit square to the arrow shaft's end cut....other words you need to make sure your arrow shafts are cut a true 90 degrees to the shaft, or you will have a very small gap on one side as the insert touches the shaft on other side....

+1 on the washer advice, I might add that you can swap washers or turn them around on the stubborn ones.

Re: Slicktricks Don't Spin True
Here is another way to help ensure your SlickTricks, or any broadhead spin true. Instead of holding the arrow horizontally when inserting/tightening your broadhead, hold them vertically. I actually place mine tip down on the workbench and hold the broadhead with the broadhead wrench and spin the arrow until tight. I've had much less runout using this method. Worth a try...

Re: Slicktricks Don't Spin True
For years I've rotated my insert to correct the crooked heads I've had . I wish the manufacturers would put a band on the rear of the insert the same size as the inside diameter of the shaft to center it up .

Re: Slicktricks Don't Spin True
Target tips will beat the surface of your front insert and sometimes the face will not be square anymore. It's best that you buy a squaring tool. They certainly aren't really expensive and can also be made if you use a little ingenuity. Look at the Bert Coyote squaring tool or the S5 for ideas.

Re: Slicktricks Don't Spin True
In order to use the squaring tool, I would have to heat the inserts and remove them correct? When I've done that in the past, I end up ruining about 15% of the arrows so I think I will just stick with messing with the washers for my exising arrows. I could see getting a squaring tool and ordering all future arrows with the inserts loose so I could square the arrows and then glue them myself

Re: Slicktricks Don't Spin True
So the tool is of no use unless the inserts or nocks are removed correct?
