Matrix Brace Height
The string should be about 1/8 off the end of the bumpers when the crossbow is in the uncocked position correct? Just checking.
Thanks!

Re: Matrix Brace Height
If'en yer string hasn't set on brace ht. put it 1/2" above yer bumpers!
Re: Matrix Brace Height
Assuming your bow is relatively new, the string will likely stretch for a while yet. Thus, setting brace height 1/2" off the bumpers is a good plan as it will slowly creep back towards the bumpers, but will not need to be reset for a while. Think about resetting it again when it is less than 1/4" off the bumpers.

Re: Matrix Brace Height
The string is stretched and isn't creeping anymore. So should the final brace height be 1/8 off the bumpers?
Thanks!!

I prefer 1/4" off. Saves the S-5s.

Good call on the 1/4 off instead of 1/8 as my bumpers are already getting beat up. Is there any disadvantage to having the brace at 1/4?
Thanks!

Re: Matrix Brace Height
Twist you bumpers after every couple shots so the string hits in a different spot they seem to last longer

Not that I have found.

I recommend from 1/4 to 3/16 BH also for a few reasons , First as mentioned to keep from damaging the bumpers and also as you begin hunting you'll see your string start to creep even more because of the time left cocked at max poundage , A little higher BH will keep you from having to adjust it to keep it off the bumpers as often . Re: Matrix Brace Height
I think as long as you're a minimum of 1/8" off the bumpers you're safe. Personally, Ikeep mine at 3/4" ffrom the split in the rail to the front of the string....which is about 1/4" off the bumpers. I also marked the side of my rail with a sharpy for quick reference. When the front of the string is at the back line of the sharpy my brace height is perfect. You don't need to go too crazy with this unless you're looking for competition type accuracy and shooting very long range. I noticed a change of brace height as little as 1/16" can change my poi at longer ranges. For hunting purposes, close enough is good enough. Good luck.
