riser

Post by fredd »

Anybody else have problems with the 2 bolts loosening on the bottom of the riser where it bolts to the rail on a new 330. loosened 2 times on me and the one time broke one strand on a brand new string.

maybe a proper torque issue.i would clean off the bolt threads add a drop of oil and run the bolts into the riser without the rail.also make sure your riser is sitting properly all the way down onto the rail. i had an older model excal that had picky alignment issues with how the riser sat onto the rail.

Couldn't tighten them anymore they were tight ass anybody could tighten them without breaking the the allen key or the damaging the bolt head. shot it 50 more shots and no problem as of yet. i check them every once and a while.

If you mark the bolt heads with a dab of paint it makes it easy to tell if it has loosened
Some of the members here do the same with the scope mount FWIW
