1st Tick Toter of the yr.

Post by vixenmaster »

1st day it hasn't rained, :) . I went up to my Northside Hang-on stand & tied on my pull cords. Up that climbin stick i went, all safe n pulled safety Bar down around me. I pulled up my pack tied it off. Pulled up Banshee n loaded a GTII wid an 85gr Spit on the end. Once it got good light i was lookin at all the trash around me. I had not cleaned up the limbs n such to have clear shots on the west/East trail i watch on the ridge. Abit after 9 am i see a deer comin to me across the top of the ridge. Its a slick head one of my favorite eatin tick toters. She eases up about 30 yds from and turns abit south as she were goin west. She stops as the air current has been comin from the southwest. I figure she must have picked up some scent of me. She is alert n lookin, heck i am lookin too  I put the dot on her i squeeze the trigger she is in full gallup. I think shot is good maybe abit back cause of her running on me. I watch her get out about 55 yds or so & she jus flops over. Dirt nap has been issued.

...nice job Mike...you think those slick head tick toters would learn to stay clear away from your area....

Congrats!

I think i have it on video, will have to dowload it abit later. I am exhausted. I finally got my 3 wheeler cranked & it quit about 150 yds from the dead deer. I drug her to 3 wheeler got her on rack. Still won't crank, so i am pulling 3 wheeler n deer on it thru all of this jungle i live in. I ain't doin too well i have to call in help. With the 3 of us we got her n dead yamaha back to cabin. I skint her cut her in parts give them most of it cept backstraps n tenderloins. They be in the ice chest. I ain't hunting til i get 3 wheeler fixed, i fell on a rock on my messed up tree knee. Its swelled up n hurtin big time. Murphy needs to leave Mo. cause i can't much more of this body abuse!

I was wondering how you were making out. 150 yards is a long drag hurt.
