Martina's Buck

Post by cspot »

Yesterday evening found us sitting on top of a ridge that has several oak trees. Here is the pic of the view. She ended up shooting the buck on the left side of the picture.

About 5:30 or so we saw movement to our left and saw the buck headed our way. It took a little while for him to get into range as he was taking his time feeding along the way. Finally he got into shooting range and Martina let the shot fly. As you can see from the pic the entrance was pretty good, but with the downward angle it ended up being a little low. We had to back out last night and come back this morning. He didn't make it far at all from last night. One neat thing is his two front hooves were white. He ended up being a 3 point.
