Excalibur Micro 335

Post by way123hockey »

I stopped in at Easthill Outdoors in Orono on my way back to the office after an inspection at one of our vendors. I had never been in this store before so I just stopped in to look around and kill some of my lunch hour. I had handled some of the Matrix products (never shot one) at other outdoor stores and I was impressed but not enough to purchase one. My Ibex and Exomax were sufficient enough for anything I hunt. I had heard about the new Micro and while it sounded interesting it wasn't something I was about to run out and order, because, as I mentioned earlier, I was satisfied with what I already owned. Well, they just happened to have a Excalibur Micro 335 on display as there is a sales rep that lives in the area. The pictures I have seen of it online do not begin to describe how nice and small and compact this bow is. They have a couple shooting lanes so I was able to shoot it and it was great. Easy to hold, shoots nice, seems to be a lot quieter than my current bows. Well, If you haven't guessed it already, I am now the proud owner of a new Micro 335. No assembly required as I took home the one they had on display. Can't wait to get and do some practicing this weekend and possibly take it out hunting.

You sound like me.

There was no way I was going to drop more money on a bow I "didn't need", especially to only save 6" across the limbs (with the matrix models), but now 10" less with the Micro has me thinking.

Haven't seen one yet (outside of pics).

Have one question though.

Compared to "pulling" your Ibex (to cock it), does it seem harder/tougher?

Or, even though it (supposedly) has a 260 lb draw weight, do you notice it much with a mere 9 1/2" power stroke??

I'm still thinking if it's possible to drop the micro riser on my M355 for a small speed demon! 2.7" longer power stroke and narra! Hmmmm

It is harder to pull than the Ibex. I would say it is similar to the Exomax but because of the shorter power stroke it's not to bad at all.
I will try to add some pictures when I get home.

If you are able to post some pics, if you could get a comparison shot with one your other bows, that would be great!

It's just a regular Excalibur Varizone scope. Comes with everything you see including a dinky little rope cocker.

I didn't notice anything terribly wrong with it but I only fired it a couple times. I will know better when it stops raining here and I can get out and shoot it some more.
