The Bow Shop just celebrated it's 20th year in business with some awesome prizes. Every purchase got you a ballot during t he month of Aug.. Well, for the 1st time in a long time, the sun shone upon this dog's arse. Got a call today saying I was the proud new owner of a one of a kind Custom Check Mate recurve. Picked it up an hour later. Man it is a sweeeeet bow. Now I need to learn the finer art of point and shoot.
Will post pics when I get batteries for digital camera.
There is your feel good story for today:))

GaryL, it is around 50lbs at 28 inch draw.
RL. I don't think this bow will get a custom paintjob. The inlays are beauty and it is a special edition made for the Bow Shops 20th. George said there were a few guys eyeing it up before I came to get it. My 1st thought was to sell it because I am a bit of a techno-junkie when it comes to bows but I am not sure that i would be happy if I did that. I could use the money towards a nice climbing stand but everyone who has seen it says to keep it because 1. it is a beauty looking bow and 2. recurves can be alot of fun.
Undesided.

DesertRat I assure you the recurve can be a lot of fun, shucks I use mine in a open field to plunk at a basket ball size rubber ball. Ya stay in the same spot, shoot at the ball, if'n ya hit it you stay in the same spot and shoot at it again, ya keep it up till it's out a range. The more shooter's the more fun Seriously they are a fine bow, yours custom made and ya WON it, but in the end different strokes fer different folksDesertRat wrote:In Part" My 1st thought was to sell it because I am a bit of a techno-junkie when it comes to bows but I am not sure that i would be happy if I did that. I hear ya Gary. That is why I think I will hang onto it. I will kick myself if I pass judgement on the bow without even trying out.
