Give it a good home Allan. That piece of maple is very usual in that it did not show itself to me till I opened her up. Always amazes me what God can do with wood. It is really fun for me to get to find out what he puts inside a blank of wood. Thanks Allan for letting me make a stock for you. :D

Yes I inherited the optimizer from Steve Rodo who did a great job setting it up for me. I believe we increased the cheek height about 3/8" or so higher than the standard height to help offset the difference for the optimizer. I didn't want to go too high in case it gives up on me and I have to go to a more conventional setup.

As far as the portageville airport is concerned, unless you are in a crop duster you might be in trouble. Not to many passenger airlines stopping here. Matter of fact even greyhound took us off their stop list a few years ago. :D

Hopefully things will work out for Boofest this year and I will bring get a chance to bring the girls out for a good time

Well,I am stumped on that one, but I am not alone on this. I have asked everyone I known including family that have been in the area over 100 yrs and no one knows about an airport in portageville. There was an "airport" at Penman which is a bit over a mile from me. Other than that I believe there are airports at Caruthersville, Sikeston, poplar bluff and Malden.

I am east of portageville towards the river, but portageville is a small place and if you were heading this way I would love to meet up,with you.

Actually if you were in the area I might suggest meeting up at Holcomb, mo and catch a bite at Strawberry's. Some of the best pork steaks you will ever eat. I am even tasked with bringing a cooler full of them to my companies head office for meeting. It sure confuses the TSA when they go through the X-ray. :D Small victories.

I can bring some targets and we can fling some arrows at them.

Beautiful stock Bigredopie,is that quilted maple considered a hard or soft maple. I have built a couple walnut stocks for my Encore but they sure lack the beauty of that stock.
