M335....

Post by amythntr »

Took a few shots today at my target with the new Micro 335....was kind of surprised that it shot very low at 20yds....it was really quiet compared to the 380...

As i shouldered the second shot...there was something very noticeable in the scope...the only way I could describe it was like it looked like material inside the scope...I tapped the top of the scope and it disappeared...

Soooo...I cannot say that it was a great first few shots....hopefully I will be able to get to the range next week...

On a positive note, my son Anthony is 2 for 2 for the M380 having shot a doe at about 12 yds at first light!

Anthony :)

Congrats to your son but sorry about the first experience with the new set up. I am positive you will get everything figured out and be putting them in the 10 ring soon.

Hi Anthony, congrats to Jr on his deer. Do yourself a favour and get rid of the Chinese scope for a functioning one, sell it on the trading post and buy yourself a Leupold VX-R with the ballistic firedot reticle. Normous turned me on to this scope and I can't say enough good things about it. Sorry it wasn't great out of the box. If it's not right straight away it won't get any better. Keep us updated paesanno. :?

Have to agree. (Any Leupold is a vast improvement.)

...Cha Ching!...More money to spend!

I guess i will have to do more bobbing and weaving as my wife has gotten pretty good at flinging those frying pans....I swear they actually go around corners to hit you!

Anthony :)

PS:....Have to agree that these scopes are not that good....Hopefully Excal will offer a Leupold in the future!

Leupold crossbones is a good alternative too... :)

Anthony to bad about you having some issues with your 335 package. I know the best move I made on mine was to replace the stock scope. And the Nikon bolt has been unreal, I even plan to put one on my future m 355... And you also wont break the bank. or maybe get one less pot and pan thrown at ya smile....I know this forum favors the leupold , and that's cool... Just sayin I'd prefer the Nikon bolt!! And it's short and sweet like your bow...Good luck bud...........

....I think I am going to go for a Leupold...probably a Crossbones as I have on the M380...i would not want to sell it on the trading post as I believe it has a problem and would not want to sell it to another "friend" on this forum...
just the way I am....

Send the factory scope to Danny Miller and do a swap for a Crossbones scope. I did and I am happy with the crossbones on my M330.

Anthony, I've heard only good things about the crossbonesbut what I've found with the illuminated firedot reticle is that it allows for faster target acquisition and is far superior to a non illuminated reticle during first and last light. I found the best price at Optics Planet. You know paesanno, it's much easier spending your $$$. :D

...Got the OK from Peter and just got off of the phone with non other than my "partna" Danny Miller...I will ship the Vari-Zone scope to him and with the exchange of some shekels he will ship me out a Leupold Crossbone scope...I know some of you like the Leupold Firedot and some like the Nikon Bolt but i am very comfortable with the Crossbones on my M380....so that be the way I be heading...I was kind of hoping on spending a few hours at the range this weekend getting the kinks worked out of the Micro 335 ...but I guess I won't be able to....

...but before you know it....I will be saddled up and ready to go.
