What scope Is best?
I have a new tact zone coming from D Miller but was wondering what a good upgrade would be.I want a lighted reticle so that leaves out the Nikon Bolt. Give me some ideas!

Re: What scope Is best?
You'll get as many different answers as you get responses, but until you look through each scope and mount them on your bow, there's no sure way to tell what you'll like.
I have used the following on crossbows and I would rate them in this order: Leupold VXR, Leupold Mark AR, Leupold Crossbones, Leupold Ultimate Slam, Hawke XB30, Horton Scope (by Hawke).
To me, clarity and brightness are important but lightweight is a close second. For these two reasons, I'd have to put the Hawkes at the bottom of my list. Clarity is OK, but they're heavy. Being built in N. America and having a lifetime warranty is great, two more reasons why Leupolds will get the nod from me. I also like Firedot illumination.
Good luck with whatever you choose. No matter what you end up buying, it will definitely be an upgrade over what you have.

Re: What scope Is best?
I have a Leupold VXR now and had another when they first came out, and for my eyes, the old illuminated VXIII or VX3 are superior scope's. I'm not crazy about the illumination turret on the ocular bell, but I like it better than the push button on the VXR.
I guess I'm going to have to buy it to try it, but I believe my next crossbow scope will be a Vortex XBR. The reviews sound pretty good.

Re: What scope Is best?
Last year I had a Leupold 4X scope from the 70s go bad. I sent it back to Leupold, but it was too old to repair. They were out of fixed power scopes so after a phone call to discuss my preferences they sent me a brand new VX2 1-4X20. That scope is now on my Phoenix (I don't like lighted reticules) and works fine.
With a warranty like that, Leupold's reputation for quality, and the fact the scopes are made in the USA, I'll have to say buy Leupold!

Re: What scope Is best?
For me i went with a rifle scope and a HHA optimizer and i ccouldn't be happier. Easy to get an illuminated dot and with the optimizer on its dial the range in and shoot.
I love this system way better then multiple reticals.
Best of luck in your decisions.

Vortex Viper XBR and I have had most of the rest. It is big, heavy, but built like a tank and super clear.

Re: What scope Is best?
Leupold duplex firedot found on the VX•R 2-7x33mm would be my choice.
My personal leupold's don't have illuminated reticles since the clarity of a Leupold scope eliminates the need.
Leupold's are the lightest and the clearest all with their full lifetime warranty and stellar customer service.
