I got this neat little 3d printed squaring tool from a guy on the AT.
it as simple as it gets and should do the job well. and for 20 bucks shipped the price was right.

before I got this I was using a 2x6 with finish nails on a x for the arrow to turn on and a block of oak with sandpaper clamped to the end..
I got the idea from this forum a long time ago.
this should work a little better

You'll love the G5, I've had mine for years. It's great that you can flip it around to square aluminum or brass inserts. The only down side is that if you're squaring the fletch end of the shaft you can't do it with vanes on it. That squaring tool for twenty bucks looks awesome and a great deal.
You're only paranoid if everyone isn't out to get you.

I have a feeling that the G5 is a little more accurate. but this one will work with the vanes on and will square the inserts..its so easy even a snowman can do it
