Micro 335

Post by Okostis »

I have recently bought a Micro 335 and I am just waiting for it to come in. In the mean time I have been on the forum researching arrows. Any recommendations on arrows and their assembly (arrow, brass/aluminum inserts, length, total grain, and broad heads). Mainly hunting deer.

I'm shooting Black Eagle Zombie Slayers cut to 15" with 92 grain inserts up front, 21 grain rear aluminum inserts, and 100 grain heads, I'm using NAP Thunderheads for now, but going to use NAP Spitfire Maxx 100 grain mechanicals next fall! Total weight 360 grains. I'm using Low profile AAE Maxx vanes, and labels stripped off!

Almost the same as above....afterall, I got my arrows from him!

15.5" zombies, 92 gr brass insert, blazers, and a slick trick mag 125.
total arrow weight is around 380ish....

This thing is chewing the center out of my target out to 45.

And I've shot 4 deer with it so far and its just hammering them...2 have blown thru, and the 2 that didnt pass thru, broke the leg on the way out.

So much fun to shoot this little bow!!!

I think of my Micro 335 the same as I used to think about my 30-30 when I used to still gun hunt.
The minute I was still hunting or making a drive, the 30-30 came out because it was short and maneuverable in close quarters.
My micro is 345 FPS with a 350 grain set up with razor ticks. My perfect crossbow for 40 yards or less. Almost all the deer I have ever taken with archery tackle has been within 35 yards and most within 20...
I'm still using the quills supplied with the bow, because I'm a firm believer of ,"If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Those arrows posted here do look good, though....
If dogs don't go to heaven, I want to go where they go....

You're going to be impressed! Thanx for the tip on the Spits, I gobbled some up with some coupons! :D I had to use one for practice with the mini vanes, it was a Biach getting it out of the 18-1, good thing i had the tapped rear nocks installed!  It was dead on at 40 yards!

Are those lower profile vanes Anthony? Because if they are I'm very curious how they perform with broadheads, especially at extended ranges. I've shot low profile vanes (Flexfletch) for years with my compounds when I was competing but I couldn't get broadheads to fly with them...with a perfectly tuned bow. Keep us updated paesanno.

...yepper Paul.....they are 2" in length, .34 inches high and 3.1 gn each...Dan shoots his setup with the 335 pretty much shooting the same arra as I plan to use...his photos indicate pretty good accuracy...I am not sure how they will shoot out to a quarter of a mile that you have been known to shoot hitting a thumbtack!

I got some drifters with the fixed heads after 30 yards, planning on going to the Spitfires next fall, they were dead on at 40 with the field points using these minis!
Anthony, we cannot hang with Paul outside of 40 yards!

I have a Micro coming on Friday, and I am going to need some help on arrows as well, so this thread is a good start! I have some 22" Accuspines with the brass adjustable inserts from my big mistake Mission I had tried for a first Xbow ever! I was wondering, could I cut these down to 15.5" or 16" and use these? What would you guys recommend for my new Micro. I want it to be accurate and not worried about speed so much. I also don't want to use expandables....I am one of those guys that has Murphy's luck with them. Thank you!

I have the same luck with expandables . I have been shooting 125gr Montecs on mine and get good results out to 40 yards . I don't shoot any farther

Have you guys tried the Rayzr feathers from Gateway? 2" long, 0.512" high and only 1.4gr each. I get good flight with fixed heads out to 40 with them (I can't go past that easily at my house). I did shoot them at 60 in Neb. and all was good, but that was a one time thing so I don't want to draw too too much from it, but I am confident.
