FOC too long for Micro/Quill?

Post by Chefrific »

Just installed NAP foc on my micro. It sure does stick out far. But is this safe? Can I still use this setup?

Sure you can and yes it is safe. Just be sure to check your arrow is still seated in the rail when you get to your stand as that length of arrow will surely catch on all kinds of vegetation. Also just to let you know, your micro may not have enough energy to open the big blades of the FOC. Mine didn't. Shot 2 deer with the micro and foc. Both double lung shots. One from 25 and the other from 35. Both arrows would not pass throught hide on the way out. Switched to a 125 gr. gravedigger COC head, shot a third deer and complete pass through. Also used the FOC from my 405 and 380 in the past with no problem passing though. Good luck!!

I've also got a Vortex and it chrono'd the foc's at 309fps. Have shot 4 whitetail with it and it passed through and then some. Blades opened up just fine.
Chrono'd my micro with the 170 grain field points and it was slinging them at 319fps! So, I'm pretty sure it will have NO problem opening up and passing through.
