The Black Reaper has my attention! How hard is it to apply to the bow?
Yeah there are a few patterns that I liked.
Tiger Stripe, Wildfire, OutShine, Snowstorm. Many would look good.
Application was really easy. Took about 2 hrs total. I took the riser and stock off and then the rail is just 2 straight pieces. All you need is a little heat (hair dryer or heat gun) and a sharp knife. Beware - it is a tight fit going back together. Apply some lube to the stock forend and you should be OK. Trim it where the riser overlaps the rail, otherwise that won't fit flush. The stuff really stretches so going around curves etc. is easy to do too. Watch some of their install videos. They help. Good company. I sent them a question and got nice detailed replies from the owner.

For me there are several advantages:
1). feathers react like feathers no matter the temp
2) three feathers weigh as much as 1 blazer
3). They actually take a lot of abuse. If they get messed up you can generally fix them with steam
4). Look cooler.

I think it was my Vortex that did the deed!
Not sure how he got out of the case though.

The feathers are great the dryer climates but living on the 'Wet Coast' I'll stick with vanes. I see all the traditional guys struggling with flattened feathers in the rain at our 3D shoots. There's no dip or powder or spray that helps that unfortunately.

My enemy's friend is also my enemy.
A buddy of mine in PA uses a product called MAX-DRI (I think) He says it works great. I never tried it because it is silicon based and I was worried about smell. Might be an option for 3D, but hey, vanes shoot just fine too.
One thing I want to try is to splice some different colored feathers together. If I get a chance in the next few weeks I plan to give it a shot. I think those arrows would look really cool.
