How much creep is normalfor a stock MICRO trigger? Is there any way other than a new TT that can take up some of the creep?

Re: MICRO TRIGGER CREEP
The triggers on my Micros were both sweet . I have a tt ready to go in but feel I wouldn't gain a whole lot so I'm going to shoot them awhile . A call to Mr Miller might help you out

Re: MICRO TRIGGER CREEP
I was told that the Micro and 405 triggers have Teflon coated sear surfaces which would make polishing them a fruitless endeavour. I really like my Micro trigger, very little perceived creep, almost like a single stage and it was like this out of the box.bubba wrote:Boo.. or don of this forum.. Mine has a touch of felt creep but great out of the box. Also you are correct ive talked to Don the heavy draws wont respond to a trigger job.

Re: MICRO TRIGGER CREEP
if your feeling substantial creep then its worth contacting Excalibur.
these triggers are about the best stock one Excalibur has made.
my perception of creep may differ from yours but it shouldn't be much at all.

Re: MICRO TRIGGER CREEP
Trigger terminonogy..................we don't always speak the same language. I have virtually no creep in my Micro trigger. I do have lots of slack however. Slack is the rearward takeup until you feel a load on the trigger. Once all the slack is taken up, a good trigger should break crisp, without any creep. Creep being the further rearward movement of the trigger as you apply pressure. A good trigger should have no creep, it should have a wall and break from that wall without any further rearward movement. I suspect you have lots of slack and not much creep......if any. A single stage TT Trigger will have no slack and no creep.
So is it slack that you are dealing with or creep? I have no problem with the Micro trigger except for the slack. I take that up first and then apply pressure until the break................it breaks consistently clean.......maybe a bit gritty but I can't complain about any creep. It's a good trigger and if it weren't for the slack it would be a great trigger for a stock crossbow. My opinion of course.

Re: MICRO TRIGGER CREEP
Talk to Boo about doing a trigger job. He can explain what's involved. I can tell you that you won't recognize it's the same trigger. Great option.greybuff wrote:How much creep is normalfor a stock MICRO trigger? Is there any way other than a new TT that can take up some of the creep?

Re: MICRO TRIGGER CREEP
Slack (as you define it) and noticeable creep (any movement of the trigger prior to firing) will make a flincher out of the best of shooters. The less the trigger moves before breaking the better - for me.
