String Give Away
OK, I only have a few Micro, and Matrix strings hanging around, and you get what i send, no whining.
I love just a few simple things in life, and am lucky to have had my share of all of them. One of my biggest passions is Rock & Roll. I have a few questions that need to be answered correctly to win the strings, slightly used maybe! Anyway, two of either Micro, or Matrix if you nail this. One for each of two questions, so if you're up on things, (and you would be considered cool in my book too), you get both. One right, one string, one chance only. Both questions must be answered in the first post. No PM's, they get me in enough trouble! Answer here please. I have to build up the scenario to get to the questions, bare with me please.
As some know, I'm a big guitar nut. I don't know everything, and I don't answer questions unless it pays to.
There is a guitarist named Earl Slick. He played with many big names, toured with several mega stars. He was also in a few bands, but his biggest contributions in my mind were with his own band, the Earl Slick Band. I knew of him, but hadn't seen him perform live, but I got my chance just by dumb luck. He opened for a band on 10/9/1976. He had a recently released album that he played mostly from, and a couple songs from the previous record as well. My questions are as follows:
1. Who did he open for that night?
2. What was the name of his album released that year? There were two! Either one.
If this sort of thing is deemed unacceptable, please don't answer the questions!
Oh, I went hunting the following morning with my good friend from Alabama, he is a Vietnam Vet. My best friends oldest brother. We were not in L.A. at the time, hint. (Lower Alabama) No, we were way far north of 74! Hint. we were in fact north of 30! Hint. We were north of 6, and that's all I can say about the venue.

Oh no, you never forget a friends name, only meaningless passers by, insignificant people you meet along the way.

Re: String Give Away
I thnk I've read my #2 posted somewhere at sometime. Credit given where credit due. I can't pass it off as my own creation. I think the original may be better
Now that's ironical considering the subject matter!

Re: String Give Away
The question is
Does Earl Stick remember what he was doing at the time.
I am sure his memory at the time was guite foggy.

Re: String Give Away
Newbie, you are a resourceful man! Yes, both correct! Thanks for playing, I'll get your address in a PM. The venue was Hammond Civic Center. Kansas was why I went, Earl Slick was a bonus.
