What are the differnces??

Post by JUSTANUFF »

Between the Cub and Grizzly?I was informed by Danny Miller the string was the only difference,,,,along with the shorter stock on the Cub,,,but now I see the Cub is rated @ 190 lb pull and the Grizzly is advertised @ 200 lb pull,,,just tryin to get the strait story,,,is it in the limbs???Riser?? Combination of the two?Have e-mailed Excalibur without a reply for 3 weeks after numerous attempts :(

Yeah I heard that too; but I do not understand how a string can change the draw weight. Of course the arrow speed can differ by string build specs. I think it's riser angles like with the Matrix 310 and 330. Same frame length but different draw weight and speed.

A shorter string will cause the limbs to flex more, thus creating more draw weight...which in turn creates more...
My thinking anyway.

A shorter string would mean a higher brace height, less power stroke, less speed.

Bingo.
The Cub has a shorter thicker string installed on it per Pinshooter who now is shooting one. Installing a standard Matrix string should get the speed back to 305/310.
I have been told that the strings on the Cub and Grizzly are not made by Danny Miller and are inferior to his strings. Anyone know if this is true?

so the only difference is string, scope, color and length of pull. What can be done about the length of pull?

X4. But according to Excalibur's spec on each bow, they both have 11.5 inch power strokes. Something isn't adding up with it's just a difference in strength length. If they have the same rails/risers/limbs and only the string length is different, then the power stroke has to be different......but that is not what Excal says.... :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

I have not even looked at either model. Y'all say the power stroke is the same ? Then it would be the Riser, is one Forward or straight or recessed ?

Nope, same bow. One stock is shorter than the other. Different strings as stated above. Put a standard Matrix string on both and they will shoot the same.
