Both show D97 on Excals specs.

Then sumpin ain't right! Cub shows 285 fps Grizz says 305. If'en rail is same n Riser same only can be the string! Excal doesn't build their limbs on a poundage basis

It dose not make sense to me either . If the string on the cub is long enough to cause a 10lb draw weight difference the power strokes would not be the same . The cub would have a shorter brace height and longer power stroke . And it would be wider .

Could it be on the Cub besides having the slower material and shorter length string it has a different brace height(higher) mark on the rail? :?: Would that not translate to less pull weight and slower FPS??? Guess some more calls are in line to Danny and/or Excal to find out!!

shorter string means higher brace height. That means a shorter power stroke. Pin said its actually 10.5" not 11.5". The bow is just short strung to slow it down.

That's pretty much what I just posted,,,and I thinks that's the difference,,,,Just the string,,,and only the string,,

Derrick stated that on page one but a few dont understand that yet. both bows risers, rails limbs are the same. Only difference is a short string yes.

Yes. Excal is causing the confusion by saying they both have 11.5 power strokes.

Hey guys. I have the Grizzly, and if the Cub performs roughly the same, it will be a great xbow. I have been extremely impressed with the accuracy and performance of this bow. I expected it to be a little noisy without any suppressors or silencers, but honestly it is not bad at all. My chronographed speed with the 18" Diablo and 150 grain field points has been 298 fps, quite better than expected with a 400 grain arrow. I chronyed a 125 grain tip just for curiousness, and it hit 306 fps. I do not know the differences in the Grizzly and the Cub, but I would bet either would be perfect for anyone. I am really glad that I went with Excalibur, and not one of the compounds. Any one near Marion Virginia that would like to try an Excalibur Grizzly, I would be happy to let you try mine out. Best purchase I have made in a long time.

Thanks Xcalibur. I will probably stick with the 150 grain, they are extremely accurate, and a few fps doesn't mean a lot to me. I was kind of expecting high 280s anyway. If I decide to buy another crossbow anytime soon, it too will be an Excalibur.Image
