Cocking the Matrix

Post by Seafermiles »

Did some shooting last night with my M30 and noticed a pull in the right side of my lower back. I have been using the right foot in the stirrup. A couple weeks ago I ended up with a back problem after shooting. So I switched to using my left foot and had no problem. It makes a difference of which foot you use and which muscles are being used, at least for me it did.
Maybe alternating the foot in the stirrup is a good idea. The Matrix 330 has a pretty good pull to get it cocked.

Me too..

I'm a lefty and use my right foot. I tried it with the left foot and it felt weird.. but I'm also a right handed shooter with a dominant right eye..

I just got an M330 also, and find the cocking effort a lot more than I am used to with my 10pt. It is 180lb draw, and I regularly hand cock it. It has the accu draw and that is the cats meow though. I can only imagine what the M405 would be like after shooting it for a while!

Do yourself a favor and get the C2. Well worth the small price to pay now to avoid damage to yourself and more money out of your wallet later when you are in need of doctor or rehab for pulled shoulder or back muscles.
Been there and done that. Lesson learned, and now I take precautions in advance. Best of luck.

....great advice as I too have purchased the C2....for some reason it does not line up perfectly with my Micro...but it does work....for those of us with bad backs it is a life saver.

No matter who you are n how strong, when yer body gets tired is when you get hurt! When you feel yer arms gettin tired, sit down let yer leg cock the crossbow. Then when yer legs are tired use a C2 :D
