Say Hello To My Little Friend

Post by xcaliber »

I went out to drive another used Toyota Tacoma today. Saw a nice one on Auto Trader .Com, and as we were looking at the truck, my wife tells the salesman she would buy a new one if he could do the deal for X. He says, well, it is Toyota's model end clearance sale, let's see what we can do! He did good under the pressure my Queen's relentless bartering. I drove the bad boy home! :D :D I have to get my new Excalibur & Hoyt stickers on still, but I have to wait at least one day!

I like the fact that this one does not require premium gas like the Frontier did, and the power is there! This truck rides a bit nicer than my Nissan too, but I can't kick my dead horse! She was mighty nice to me for several years, and I'm a gonna miss her. Not too much now!

Thanks Terry. I was going to get a Toy when I bought the Frontier, I'm so pleased with the build quality of this truck I just freak out driving her. I do wish it had more aggressive tires, but maybe next fall!

Congrats Dan,

I'm on my 4th Toyota P/U. It all started in 88 and since then there was a 2x4 and 3 - 4x4's, the last being a 03 Tundra SR 5 which I'm still driving at 145,000 and getting 20 mph on the highway, :D ( This one's a bit rare as it's a V6 with a 5 speed )... Almost the Tundra's in this part of the country are V8's with auto's.

The new Tacoma' is just about the same size as the Origional Tundra. I'm sure you will have and enjoy it for years.

I gave that 1st one to a step son when it had 265,000 and he put another 100,000 on before having it totaled buy a young girl that was texting while driving.

A " Deer hauler" has been mentioned but rest assured, it will also haul Elk.

Congrats on the new truck.... looks nice!

I will keep running the 2000 Silverado two wheel drive I picked up a little over a year ago after I hit my 3'rd dear with the Dakota I had.
It only had 74k miles on it and belonged to an old guy that lost his license when he turned 93
I was looking for a 4x4 but the guy only wanted 4000.00 so I couldn't pass it up.
I just throw 4 bags of sand in the back when the first snow flake falls.
Oh, and I have already hit 1 deer with this truck that cost the insurance company 2k to fix up for me

Very nice, Dan. I think that unit is marketed here in Oz as a HiLux. Most of ours are diesel though. (91 Ron is currently about AUD1.30 per litre!)
