OT: Rhode Island DEM Owes Me Three Quills!!

RI DEM insists on an archery proficiency test to be permitted into some areas. The test is ridiculous requiring you to shoot 3 out of 5 bolts into a deer target vitals from 20 yds. The target is the size of a large elk so finding the vitals is a joke.

Anyway, I lost all 3 BE executioner bolts deep into the overused cheapo target. The only way to retrieve was with a needle nose pliers which ruined the end of the bolts. When I asked the attendant why they are using such crap and what my recourse, he shrugged and walked away.

I hate state bureaucracy!!

Knowing this now . If you have to re-test . Use washers on your arrows to reduce penetration . Downside is it is pure heck on a cheap target .

Rhode island here..most of the time when
You take that test its a cardboard deer target
With boat dock foam behind it witch sticks
To arrows..when I take it with the vertical
Bow I pass with the first 3 and the guy says
Good don't shoot anymore save your arrows .
You should be able to pass that with junk arrows..its only
20yrds I could do it @40 with a vertical..as far
As the test every one should have to take it as a lot of the

Sounds like you need to hunt garage sales for some old cheap aluminum arrows to cut down. Tell them to keep the change when your done shooting. Heck at 20 yards you might not even have to fletch them. It's always good to hear other states are messed up.
