trigger lock for axiom

Post by cadmaster »

is there an effective trigger lock for the Excal crossbows especially the axiom. I have a master lock trigger lock and it does not work so well as it moves around and the bow possibly be actually fired while in place.

Might be a good new product for excal to start making.

I am not sure how the laws on storage relate to crossbows here in ontario, but I keep mine locked up in a hard plastic bow plano compound bow case and a trigger lock in place.

No laws on storage as it is not a firearm. If you are worried about it remove the string or hide arrows.

Or hide the cocking aid. If you're forgetful like me, you'll regret putting the trigger lock on your bow the first time you forget your key for it, so buy the cheap plastic ones that are easy to break off because there is no legal reason to lock it and I don't see much safety value in it either.

Cable lock. Put it thru the stirrup and around string.

That's the ticket right there. If I were to ever want to lock it (I never will) that would be the way...

X 3 on string removal

2 minutes of your time for piece of mind.

I don't believe a trigger lock will never prevent cocking the crossbow ss they are designed.
Which may be even more dangerous.
Another fear I would have is someonecin family trying to cock it and while trying to do so having the crossbow slip propelling the stock back causing major head or chest trama.

Cable lock as indicated above maybe your best option if so inclined thou.

Plus nothing better than taking the time ( a few times of course to reinforce the points) an educating everyone in your home on the fine points of the do's and don'ts of firearm safety.
If they are old enough to try then they are old enough to start learning the most important aspect of firearm ownership and responsibility. (SAFETY).

.....personally I would stand clear of a trigger lock for all of the reasons previously stated!
