mr meat wrote:Congrats to Mickey for smoking his first bear!! Can,t wait for the pics!Steve does he still have the carved tiped limbs on that bow!
He still be shooting with the carved tips. Just loaded a new string on it last week and had him shooting quite a bit to get it stretched a bit. Can't figure this picture posting out. I supposedly have a photo bucket account but can't find it on my compy.

Mickey Mayhem say's thanx for all the words of encouragement and congrats. He was inspired a lot by all the help and tips taken in over the last coupla visits to Boofest that we have attended. After the kill shot he quoted Dr Danny in his Ohio accent by saying " I got you, you dirty bas%#@d".

First: a BIG CONGRATS: successful hunt with a son (or daughter), doesn't get better than that.

Few questions please
how many yards was the shot?
did the arrow pass through?
How much of a blood trail with the Montec?
what do you do with the meat?
thanks.

Steve a very big congratulations to you and the young man . (no longer a boy :) )
But a story is no good without pictures .
As far as I`m concerned the story was not too long .
Thanks for bringing us along on the hunt . :)

Congratulations to Mickey Mayhem!
Looks like a good eatin' size bear. It might be because they are protected here in Ohio and I seldom get to eat it, but I rank black bear as one of the best critters for table fare.

Great story, great hunt. What's up with the dude posting " crown land"? I'm assuming that's like American government land or public land? Is crown land owned by the British queen? Where I live down in the south of the USA we would have laughed and tore down that dudes signs as quick as he put them up. You don't post public land, that fella would probably have got a ticket from the wildlife officer here. I'm just curious that's all?
