Bolt Trajectory

Post by Phil W »

I never see any discussions about bolt trajectory. Although I have the Tactzone scope on my Matrix 355 and don't have to hold high, I stillwonder what the trajectory of my bolt is. 400 grain total bolt weight traveling 339 fps at first launch, sighted in intially at 20 yards. Where would my bolt be at 10, 30, 40, 50 and 60 yards? Anyone know how to calculate that?

This description may help.

Try this Nikon Spot On program with your data.

This is another good program to input your data and see the trajectory.

Thanks for that information.

I bought a 405 a year+ ago and haven't had time to experiment. (Eye surgery) I'm now switching to a red dot scope and sighting in at 30 yards.

From my tree stand I have a maximum distance of 40 yards and most shots are at 30 yards. If one comes in at 20 yards, shade the shot a bit low and if it comes in at 40 ,yards shade it slightly more on the high side.

That's the ticket!!

Thanks again.
