when you are out there drink a lot of water. People think u get dehydrated from sweating. Airs dry out there so every breath you take you're blowing out water. stay hydrated. if u pee only once a day u need more water.

if possible go out and spend several days at high elevation before you hunt, this will help you get accustom to the lack of air and also help you determine if you are one of the many that will get elevation sickness which comes in many forms. Gear wise Meindl boots, I wear the Denali also best bino glass you can afford and a wind stopper sweater to pack. Day pack I used a Eberlestock.
My last elk archery hunt was 3 years ago in zone 1 Arizona it took 11 years to draw a tag for that zone but we were 3 for 3 with the bow. I used a PSE rated at 62lbs and a 125 grain Ram Cat blew thru the 6x6 at slightly over 25yds. he took off like I never hit him, gave a cow squeal and he stop thrashed a pine did a 180 and fell over. Good luck and remember aim small even tho they are screaming large :D
335 Micro "THOR" as in "Thorin Oakenshield"
RamCat 125gr. AKA Battle Axe

Boot question
Would 6" or 8" work best

Take both. I wear a low 6 inch danner not insulated and a good pair of 8 in insulated boots. Weather can change on a dime. 70 today 2 foot of snow tomorrow.
