405 vs thumb - update - slightly graphic

Post by Species8472 »

So it's been a week and tonight I tried to cock the 405 and succeeded:

Thumb currently looks like this:

Going to head out tomorrow and chase some whitetail.

Be sure and watch your thumb so that it doesn't get into the line of fire. I would say that'd be something that you only do once but since this is your second time I'll just say, please be careful. Lol

Now then, get your equipment, your quiver and bow, and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Thumb looks good.
Has decent circulation...now it's a wait and see about nerves. They take a long time to heal compared to flesh and muscle.
Good huntin to ya.

The thumb looks a lot better than it did a week ago.
Hope it heals without further trouble!

(When I whacked my finger they stitched it up and sent me home. 2 weeks later it swelled up and they took x-rays to find I'd broken 2 bones. Couldn't afford a specialist, so it's a little crooked now. )

Holy Cow! You're a better man than me. You dang near ripped your thumb clean off and yer back at it in a week! Heal well and quickly my friend.
....Wildcatter, I can assure you this had nothing to do with the stock. Many have done this with factory stocks. If you saw Danny Miller's style of shooting you'd wonder how he doesn't hit any digits.

Man that looks painful. Thanks for the reminder to to keep your fingers out of the way. Glad to hear you're back at it. Speedy recovery.
If you're not part of the solution, you might be part of the problem.

You, my friend are one tough son of a gun! My hat's off to ya. Your fortitude and determination is off the charts. 8)

Like others said be careful to not let it get infected.

Good luck!
