Thank you Excalibur for ADF!!! Yup! The Newbie went & it !

Post by GodsCrossBowRanger »

Good Golly Miss Molly !! I can't believe i went and did it ? I finally got around to Sighting in "Casper" my MC - NM 335, after about a week of going into a fanatical Excalibur Zombie like Feeding Frenzy ? It was like two Best Friends coming together for the very first time in Decades !!! I mean it Man !!! Casper & I became One!!! Danny Miller "Sir" you made this Delapidated Old Broken Vet ? Like a New Troop going through "Coast Guard training " at the Hilton ??? That was until that Fatal moment ? Weeks had gone by ! I was becoming a semi - gonna be Crossbow Hunter ? I was getting my routine down ! Like I use to with my lil' friends : the .45, 16, early on ? And then the 15, 9mm, machine gun later down the road ? Anyway, I thought if I trained enough, I'd respond without thinking ? Muscle memory ??? Right ??? Wrong !! Nope!! I'm just like every body else ? I zigged when I should had zagged ??? How I managed to Fire my Crossbow Dry ? Is beyond me ? Except for the shear fact of being in the Heat of the Moment ??? That was the Most Heart Braking "Thump" I've ever heard !!! Except ? There was a peaceful sort confidence that shattered Experience !!! The "ADF" Thank God!!! If I could have ? I would have been doing Cheeta Flips !!! I immediately inspected my Bow with Extreme Care and Critic !!! I'm still a little worried ? But, it's a whole lot better knowing that the ADF saved the Day !!! And my Limbs !!! It surely would had Broken my heart if I had Broken Casper !!! Is there anything you Old timers ? Seasoned Veterans can advise me with ? Because I'm still a little shook !! And, keep checking the limbs ? Sorry, for the long winded text men ?

Welcome to the forum. Good to hear the ADF saved your butt and your bow. Tou're now a full member of the dry fire club and you're in good company too. :)

Give your bow, string and serving a good going over. If they look good cock the bow, put the safety on and run a cotton ball over the limbs to check for splinters or cracks. If you don't find any your good to go. Fire away....with an arrow loaded of course. :)

Happy shooting and safe hunting to you. :)

Welcome aboard from another newbie. ADF saved my bacon too. I know about that heartbreaking sound! Hope to never hear it again.

your not alone here !!!
IN '11, I DF'd my new vortex and thanks to having one of boo's finest on deck,
it didn't hurt a thing... 8)

look over everything before you get into trigger position. i'know it can be
quick, but its better than watching that whitetail just bounce off the plot
without any care but the noise you just made.....

count to 3, #1 arra installed, #2 safety off, 3# target in focus...

TWANG !!! your in...............

Thank ya all so far for so much !!! Cotton balls ? Who would of thought ? Good idea Sensai" !!! Could you use that on Bolts too ! I've tried inspecting them the suggested way ? By bending them in all directions and running my thumb along the spine ?
