Excalibur Matrix 405 Braod Head Weight

Post by Double S »

Just got my first crossbow. The Excalibur Matrix 405 Mega.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what weight broad heads i should use ?

It came with 150 grain field tips, but i'm having trouble finding that weight in broad heads

I will be using it for deer hunting

I am going to use Swacker 125 gr. which puts the total arrow and head weight close to 350 grains....the mass advertised to produce the 405 FPS. I hope they fly OK. I know they are saying that the 150s produce the best repeatability.

Slick Trick Xbow 150 gr. 11/8" cutting dia. I shoot Slick Trick Magnums 125gr. 11/8" cutting dia. on 20" black eagle executioners w/ 92gr. Brass insert and balzer vanes out of my matrix 380 and I get 1" groups out to 60 yds. Slick tricks really make slug sized holes

Got 2 season on it. I sent in limbs. One side had just the outer layer delaminate. I taped it down the rest of the season and used it with no trouble. Both limbs replaced no problem. that was the first season. This season the twilight delux scope got wet for the first time and is block completely from any sighting. I still love this bow. I dead lift and squat regularly among my other sets on a weekly basis. I can get hurt cocking this Beatch.....omg! That last inch is incredible.....still love the $hit out of this machine. I have taken neck shots from the trust I have in its repeatability. After horror stories shooting my old inexpensive cam cbows.....there is nothing to compare!
