First hunt with Grizzly - 7 point

Well finally got in the woods. Up in northern michigan for a week. I am in the APR area and have been waiting for the 3rd year to get here. My buddies and I always thought the 3rd year would produce nice bucks. Been hunting this area for 25 years and most years all you saw was spikes. Last year a lot of 4's.

This morning was my first hunt of the week....nice quiet morning. 9:30am I hadn't seen a deer and was considering eliminating one of the 10 squirrels around me. The wind kicked up and 10 minutes later I see a deer moving my way. Nice 7 point came within 25 yards. Put my 150 grain Slick Trick right through his chest. Got to see him do the death kick within 30 yards. Love my Excalibur. With venison hanging now I can hunt for a trophy. 6 more days.....gotta love the fall.
