Now I went and Done It

Post by Scarecrow »

After reading about all you multi-bow owners I had a chance to pick up a M380 for a great price. Now I have a 4 month old Grizzly and a brand new M380. The deciding factor was the biggest buck I have ever seen standing broadside at 38 yards and didn't have the confidence in the Grizzly to take the shot. Based on what I have read here and a year to practice I doubt I will have the same feeling if given the opportunity next year. Looks like my daughter might have a crossbow of her own.

Congrats on the new 380. Should get it done for you quite nicely. Happy hunting. :)

The Grizzly would have easily made the shot. Maybe it's the operator that lacks confidence in his abilities. :?:

I practiced a lot and was within 4" at 60 yards but When I shot at 40 yards I could follow the arrow through the scope. It seemed to have a bigger arch and was definitely a delay from trigger to target. I just didn't want that deer to move and wound him. I could not have slept if it was a bad hit and didn't find him. Better safe than sorry. He'll be even bigger next year.

I think you made the right decision if you were not confident with the shot. There is nothing wrong, what- so- ever, with waiting for a better opportunity.
I also think you will be very impressed with your new M380. Let us know what you think of it.

Happy Trails

Will do. I hope to get it cited in and use it in the late bow season here in Michigan.

Congrats on the new bow!

I'd have let the deer walk, too. At that distance with the Grizzly's speed a good outcome is likely, but Murphy has a way of stepping in and ruining good intentions.

As mentioned your Grizzly could have made the shot. But Congrats on your Matrix 380.
