Opening day of gun season - son scores!

Nothing this morning, but this evening we had 6 at the feeder. I told my son to shoot one of the bigger does if she offered a clear shot. Exit wound in the pic looks far back, but she was quartering to him and he put it in the front shoulder. She went about 30 yards before she collapsed.
He was able to blood trail her without my help, so he's learning!

Now it's my turn while he's in school the rest of the week.

Are you allowed to take both Buck & Doe, in your gun season?

Pa. gun opened today, but in my WMA only Buck's, with three on a side till this Sat. then Doe come in.

We can take 3 deer in our county (and more in other counties for up to 6 total), but only 1 antlered deer per season. He could still shoot another doe and a buck, or 2 more does this season.

Yep, it's a CVA Wolf. Not pretty, but not a bad little rifle. It was loaded with 90gr ffg black powder and a 250gr Barnes Expander bullet. And it is wearing a Leupold 2-7x33 scope. The scope cost more than the rifle!
